NO LAUGHING IN THE GRAVE
THE NAZARENE

[INTRO]

They laughed at the warning.
They joked with the flame.
But death don’t laugh
when it calls your name.

No more punchlines.
No more brave.
There’s no laughing
in the grave.

[VERSE 1]

Group chat wild with the hell jokes flying,
memes on death while the real world’s dying.
Everybody laughs till the phone call lands,
then the whole room shakes with a trembling hand.

One text says, “Bro, did you hear?”
One mum drops down with a face full of fear.
Same ones laughing at eternity,
now staring at flowers by a framed ID.

I’m not here to mock that pain,
I know grief falls like a cold hard rain.
But if death can silence a crowded room,
why play with sin like it won’t bring doom?

Young man loud with a chest pushed out,
said, “I don’t fear God, I don’t care, no doubt.”
But the lungs still work by the Lord’s command,
dust can’t boast when it’s held in His hand.

Girls in the mirror, boys in the street,
whole world dancing to a borrowed beat.
One breath laughs, one breath leaves,
then the black suit comes and the whole house grieves.

So hear this call while the door is wide,
not hate in my mouth, just tears inside.
Christ still saves while your lungs still wave,
don’t meet truth when you’re cold in the grave.

[HOOK]

No laughing in the grave, no jokes at the throne,
no filter on the soul when you stand alone.
Turn while the blood still speaks today,
Jesus Christ is the Life and the Way.

No laughing in the grave, no pride can stay,
all flesh fades like grass in the day.
Come home now, let the old life die,
Christ gives life that will never die.

[VERSE 2]

Culture says, “Relax, it’s not that deep,”
then sells you sin till your conscience sleeps.
Laugh at pastors, laugh at prayer,
laugh at judgement like God ain’t there.

But Scripture cuts through the smoke and noise,
you can’t drown truth in a crowd of boys.
Once to die, then the judgement seat,
no bravado when heaven speaks.

Hell is real, I say that with grief,
not for shock, not for streams, not beef.
God is holy, sin is not small,
every proud heart must answer the call.

Some say, “God knows my heart, I’m fine,”
but the heart makes idols and calls them signs.
Some say, “Later, when life gets slow,”
but the grave don’t ask if you’re ready to go.

Rich man begged from the flame too late,
wanted one warning sent back through the gate.
But Moses and prophets had already cried,
repent while breath is still inside.

No laughter there, no party sound,
no comment section underground.
No clout, no crown, no rented fame,
only your soul and your naked name.

So don’t let jokes make your heart turn stone,
don’t face forever with sin still owned.
The warning is love with a trumpet tone,
Jesus still calls the rebel home.

[VERSE 3]

Here is the Gospel, no fog, no game,
sin is the wound and we bear the blame.
Holy God and a guilty race,
no clean heart without saving grace.

Jesus Christ came in human flesh,
true man walking through dust and death.
No sin in Him, no stain, no lie,
yet He came for sinners to die.

Cross on His back, blood from His brow,
mercy was speaking then, mercy speaks now.
Nails went deep and the sky turned dim,
judgement fell on the Lamb for sin.

He shed His blood for the guilty stain,
bore our curse, bore our shame.
Cried out loud, then gave His breath,
entered fully the valley of death.

They buried His body, the stone was sealed,
hope looked hidden, the wound looked real.
But the third day broke with a holy sound,
Jesus rose bodily out of the ground.

Not a myth, not a vibe, not a dream,
death got split by the risen King.
Scars in His hands, life in His voice,
repent and believe, this is the choice.

Bring Him the jokes that hid your fear,
bring Him the guilt you buried for years.
Bring Him the pride that would not bow,
mercy is calling, come home now.

[BRIDGE]

Mercy for the mocker.
Mercy for the proud.
Mercy for the joker
laughing in the crowd.

Blood for the guilty.
Grace for the brave.
Life in Jesus
beyond the grave.

Come while the door is open.
Come while your lungs still rise.
Come to the Man of Sorrows.
Come to the Lord of Life.

[FINAL HOOK]

No laughing in the grave, no jokes at the throne,
no filter on the soul when you stand alone.
Turn while the blood still speaks today,
Jesus Christ is the Life and the Way.

No laughing in the grave, no pride can stay,
all flesh fades like grass in the day.
Come home now, let the old life die,
Christ gives life that will never die.

[OUTRO]

Laugh now if you want.
But hear love when it warns.
Turn to Jesus Christ
before the silence comes.
