Track NameROADMAN’S LEDGER
00:00 / 04:06

TITLE: ROADMAN’S LEDGER

[INTRO]

Everybody keeps score.

The road keeps score.

The courts keep score.

Your memory keeps score.

But the Cross speaks better.

Listen.

[VERSE 1]

Roadman’s ledger got the numbers too high,
missed court dates and a mother’s tired eyes.
Names in files, old charges stacked,
street rep heavy but the peace got taxed.

Phone keeps ringing with a hidden dread,
letters on the table that you left unread.
Probation meeting, train fare low,
heart beats fast when the blue lights show.

You laugh with the mandem, say you’re all good,
but night gets loud in the quiet of the hood.
Faces you hurt, words you regret,
pain in the chest that the road can’t forget.

Street keeps score with a cold black pen,
who did what and who owes them.
Revenge adds heat but subtracts rest,
pride turns debt into iron in the chest.

But deeper still than the case and the charge,
sin before God makes the ledger large.
Every lie, every lust, every hate we hide,
written where the soul can’t step aside.

[HOOK]

Roadman’s ledger,
numbers too high.
Christ paid debt
when the King had to die.

Only Jesus saves.
Only Jesus saves.
Records can’t cleanse you,
streets cannot raise.

Blood on the Cross,
mercy still speaks.
Jesus saves souls
from the ends and the streets.

[VERSE 2]

The thief on the cross had a record exposed,
no clean suit, no polished pose.
No time left for a brand-new start,
just nails, guilt and a breaking heart.

One thief mocked with a bitter breath,
close to Jesus but cold in death.
The other looked at the King beside,
saw his own guilt with nowhere to hide.

“We deserve what our deeds have brought,
but this Man’s clean,” that sinner thought.
Then he prayed while his chest got weak:
“Remember me when Your Kingdom speaks.”

Jesus answered before day’s end:
“Today in Paradise,” mercy sent.
No long résumé, no holy pride,
just guilty faith in the Crucified.

So hear this now if your name feels stained,
if shame got links like a prison chain.
You are not saved by acting tough,
or pretending your pain is not enough.

You need more than a cleared police file,
more than a fresh fit, more than a smile.
You need the Lamb who can wipe sin’s debt,
and give new life where the soul feels wrecked.

[HOOK]

Roadman’s ledger,
numbers too high.
Christ paid debt
when the King had to die.

Only Jesus saves.
Only Jesus saves.
Image can’t cleanse you,
fear cannot raise.

Blood on the Cross,
mercy still speaks.
Jesus saves souls
from the ends and the streets.

[BRIDGE]

The street says:

Pay back.

The court says:

Stand up.

The heart says:

Guilty.

The Cross says:

Paid in full.

Come to Christ.

[VERSE 3]

Colossians says there was debt in our name,
record stood against us with righteous claim.
Christ took that charge and nailed it high,
cancelled the record when He came to die.

Not cheap pardon, not a hidden trick,
God saw sin and the debt ran thick.
Justice spoke, mercy bled,
Lamb of God in the sinner’s stead.

Nails in His hands for the hands that sinned,
blood poured out for the filth within.
Crown on His head for the pride we wore,
Cross opened up like the Kingdom door.

They laid Him down, thought the case was closed,
stone on the tomb where the cold wind froze.
Third day came and the grave got light,
Christ rose up with eternal life.

Now He calls to the boy on the landing at night,
to the girl with tears that she hides from sight.
To the prisoner counting the days on the wall,
to the one who thinks they’re too far gone to call.

Repent and believe, let the old life break,
Jesus gives more than the road can take.
No ledger too long, no shame too deep,
the risen Shepherd still finds His sheep.

[FINAL HOOK]

Roadman’s ledger,
numbers too high.
Christ paid debt
when the King had to die.

Only Jesus saves.
Only Jesus saves.
His blood can cleanse you,
His voice can raise.

Blood on the Cross,
mercy still speaks.
Jesus saves souls
from the ends and the streets.

[OUTRO]

File not final.

Record not final.

Street name not final.

Christ is risen.

Debt paid.

Mercy calls.

Jesus is Lord.
