DIGITAL BABYLON EXPLAINED

THE NAZARENE

Kids Cyber Gospel / Bible Story Rap

INTRO - SPOKEN

Before Digital Babylon,

there was Babylon in the Bible.

A real empire.

A proud city.

A place of idols, power, exile, and captivity.

But the same spirit still whispers today:

Forget God.

Bow to the image.

Live for the system.

This song is for the children growing up inside glowing towers.

CHOIR INTRO

Babylon, Babylon, towers so high,

But God still hears when His children cry.

Digital city, neon lights,

Jesus frees us from the night.

RAP VERSE 1

Babylon in the Bible was an empire with pride,

Tall walls, gold gods, kings lifted high.

They took God’s people far from home,

Left them by rivers feeling alone.

Psalm said they wept by Babylon streams,

Remembering Zion, remembering dreams.

Harps hung silent on willow trees,

Captive hearts asking, “Lord, rescue me.”

Then came Daniel in a foreign land,

Still prayed to God with steady hands.

Didn’t bow down when the pressure came,

Still stayed faithful to the Holy Name.

Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego stood,

Wouldn’t bow to the statue though the fire looked good.

The king said, “Worship what I made,”

They said, “Our God can save.”

SUNG HOOK

Digital Babylon, glowing bright,

Trying to capture hearts at night.

But Jesus calls, “My child, be free,”

Come out the noise and follow Me.

Digital Babylon, towers tall,

But Christ is King above them all.

No screen, no feed, no glowing throne,

Can take the place of God alone.

RAP VERSE 2

So why say Digital Babylon now?

Because the same old pride wears a new-style crown.

Not just brick towers touching the sky,

Now glass screens flashing before our eyes.

Babylon said, “Bow to gold,”

Digital Babylon says, “Do what you’re told.”

“Scroll one more, buy one more thing,

Chase that trend, let the screen be king.”

It captures attention, captures desire,

Keeps little hearts in a dopamine fire.

Not chains on wrists, not bars on doors,

But minds kept busy wanting more.

That’s captivity in a modern way,

When the feed shapes how you think all day.

When silence feels scary, rest feels strange,

And your heart gets trained by the algorithm cage.

It says, “You are what people see.”

Jesus says, “Child, you belong to Me.”

It says, “Perform or disappear.”

Jesus says, “I am near.”

CHOIR RESPONSE

No more bowing to the glow,

Jesus leads where free hearts go.

No more fear and no more shame,

Christ still calls us each by name.

RAP VERSE 3

Babylon captured God’s people from home,

But digital captivity can happen alone.

A child in bed with a phone at night,

Blue glow shining instead of light.

Online friends but a lonely soul,

Group chats cold and comments bold.

Memes keep moving, the mind can’t rest,

Heart still carrying a heavy chest.

That’s why we call it a digital land,

A place where systems can shape what you stand.

What you love, what you fear, what you chase,

What you think when you look at your face.

Babylon sold idols made of stone,

Now idols live in the mobile phone.

Popularity, beauty, money, fame,

Same old hunger with a brand-new name.

But Daniel teaches us how to live,

Faithful to God where the empires sit.

Pray in the city, don’t lose your soul,

Let the Lord stay in control.

SUNG PRE-HOOK

Lord, teach us wisdom in the glowing age,

Help us be faithful on every page.

Screens can serve, but they can’t reign,

Jesus, free our hearts again.

SUNG HOOK

Digital Babylon, glowing bright,

Trying to capture hearts at night.

But Jesus calls, “My child, be free,”

Come out the noise and follow Me.

Digital Babylon, towers tall,

But Christ is King above them all.

No screen, no feed, no glowing throne,

Can take the place of God alone.

RAP BRIDGE

Babylon says, “Build your name.”

Jesus says, “Give God fame.”

Babylon says, “Bow to me.”

Jesus says, “Truth sets free.”

Babylon says, “Stay distracted.”

Jesus says, “Come be healed.”

Babylon sells fake satisfaction,

Christ gives peace that’s real.

Babylon says, “You need more.”

Jesus opens mercy’s door.

Babylon says, “You’re never enough.”

Jesus says, “Child, you are loved.”

RAP VERSE 4

This ain’t about hating tech or fun,

Games can be bright, screens can run.

But when the screen becomes the throne,

The child starts feeling far from home.

So we learn from exile, learn from prayer,

God was with His people there.

Even in Babylon, God still moved,

Still kept promises, still proved truth.

And Jesus came as the greater King,

Not like empires that crush and sting.

He set captives free with grace,

Looked forgotten children in the face.

Luke four scroll, Isaiah sound,

Good news preached where the lost are found.

Sight for blind eyes, freedom call,

Christ the Liberator over all.

So scroll city kids, don’t be afraid,

You can live wise in the world God made.

Use the tools, but don’t bow low,

Follow Jesus through the glow.

FINAL HOOK

Digital Babylon, glowing bright,

Trying to capture hearts at night.

But Jesus calls, “My child, be free,”

Come out the noise and follow Me.

Digital Babylon, towers tall,

But Christ is King above them all.

No screen, no feed, no glowing throne,

Can take the place of God alone.

OUTRO - CHILDREN’S CHOIR

Babylon, Babylon, towers so high,

But God still hears when His children cry.

Digital city, neon lights,

Jesus frees us from the night.

The towers may glow,

The feeds may call,

But Jesus Christ

Is Lord of all.
