HABAKKUK QUESTIONS THE ALGORITHM

Track NameHABAKKUK QUESTIONS THE ALGORITHM
00:00 / 02:34

INTRO]

Habakkuk stood on the watchtower.
He asked, “How long?”
Now we stand in the feed
asking the same thing.

[VERSE 1]

How long, Lord, must the screen keep shouting?
How long must fear keep clouding?
How long must violence flood the eyes?
How long must media train our cries?

The prophet watched a brutal age,
justice trapped inside a cage.
Now we watch through glass and code,
same old grief on a digital road.

Algorithm says, “Stay enraged,”
turn your peace into a cage.
“Click this war, watch this pain,
feed your dread and come again.”

But Habakkuk climbed above the noise,
waited for the living voice.
Though fig tree fail and stalls are bare,
I will rejoice, my God is there.

[HOOK]

Lord, guard my heart, guard my mind,
leave the fear-feed far behind.
Open my eyes, make my soul still,
teach me Your Word, teach me Your will.

Screen is stone and code is dust,
Christ alone receives my trust.
Though the whole world shake and scream,
Jesus wakes me from the dream.

[VERSE 2]

Do not say Scripture cannot speak,
because it talks of cows and sheep.
The prophets knew the human frame,
knew greed and fear by ancient name.

They knew empire, lust and blood,
cities built against the flood.
They knew rich men crushing poor,
they knew idols at the door.

Modern wisdom is not always wise,
it just wears brighter digital eyes.
Ancient prophets saw the root:
worship wrong and you grow bad fruit.

The Tree of Knowledge still gets sold:
“Take this power, break the mould.”
But Jesus is the Tree of Life,
heals the nations, ends the strife.

[OUTRO]

Though the feed fails.
Though the screen lies.
I will rejoice.
Christ is alive.
