[INTRO]

Before Israel had a throne,
before Moses saw fire,
before David held a harp,
there was a man called out.

Abram of Ur.

City behind him.
Promise before him.
Stars above him.
Faith inside him.

[VERSE 1]

Abram came from Ur, where the old world shone,
city full of idols, moon-god throne,
brick-built towers and a settled name,
but the living God called him out by grace.

“Leave your country, your father’s land,
walk by faith with an empty hand.
I will bless you, make your name great,
through your seed I will bless every nation’s gate.”

That’s an origin story with no cape in sight,
no glowing suit, just a voice in the night.
No map unlocked, no GPS line,
just the Word of God and appointed time.

Gen Alpha, hear it, the call still cuts,
don’t let the system decide your trust.
Not every bright city is where you belong,
not every loud crowd is singing your song.

Abram stepped out, not knowing the road,
faith means walking where obedience goes.
Screens say, “Stay where the comfort is king,”
God says, “Come, I will show you a thing.”

[HOOK]

Father of faith, walking by the Word,
stars in the sky and a promise heard.
Leave the old way, trust and obey,
God keeps covenant day after day.

Faith is not sight, faith is not fame,
faith is believing the Lord by Name.
Blessed to be blessing, called from the start,
God writes promise on a waiting heart.

[VERSE 2]

His mission was bigger than family pride,
bigger than tents where the camels lie.
God chose one man from a world gone wild,
to bless all nations through one promised Child.

Covenant spoken beneath the stars,
“Count them if you can, that’s how wide they are.”
Abram believed, and the Scripture says,
God counted faith as righteousness.

Not perfect though, don’t miss that part,
fear still wrestled in Abraham’s heart.
He lied about Sarah, tried shortcuts too,
faith can be real while still needing truth.

Hagar got hurt in the human plan,
Ishmael cried in the desert sand.
The Bible shows heroes with cracks in the clay,
so we learn not to idolise people today.

Gen Alpha, that’s wisdom, not cancel and sneer,
learn from the wound, let compassion draw near.
God’s promise stands, but pride can bruise,
so walk with faith and humble shoes.

[CHOIR COUNTER]

Stars above him.
Promise before him.
Faith within him.
God went with him.

[VERSE 3]

Then came Isaac, laughter in the tent,
promise-child after years were spent.
Old age, dry hope, impossible scene,
God made life where no life had been.

Then Moriah rose like a shadowed test,
father and son on a mountain crest.
“God will provide,” Abraham said,
with trembling faith where the altar bled.

Knife lifted, angel cried, “Stay!”
Ram in the thicket caught that day.
The Lord provides on the mountain still,
mercy was speaking through Abraham’s will.

But hear the echo across time’s stream,
another Father, another Son, deeper theme.
On that mountain line, the Gospel would glow,
God gave His Son where Abraham could not go.

Isaac was spared, Jesus was slain,
Lamb of God bearing sin and shame.
Abraham’s story points past the sand,
to Christ, the blessing for every land.

[BRIDGE]

Ur says settle.
Faith says go.

Empire says build.
God says grow.

Culture says brand.
Covenant says bless.

Screens say perform.
Faith says yes.

Not main character glory,
not self-made throne,
but promise received
from God alone.

[VERSE 4]

So what do we learn in a digital age?
Don’t let comfort become your cage.
Don’t worship cities, numbers, screens,
don’t bow to idols dressed as dreams.

Faith may wait when the clock feels slow,
promise may grow where you cannot know.
God is not late when your feed moves fast,
His covenant mercy is built to last.

Be blessed to bless, not blessed to flex,
not just cash, clout, views and checks.
If God gives favour, open your hand,
serve the poor and heal the land.

Abraham teaches the pilgrim heart,
trust God’s Word when you cannot chart.
He looked for a city not built by men,
whose architect is God. Amen.

And Jesus fulfils what the stars once told,
nations gathered in the Shepherd’s fold.
From Abraham’s seed came the promised King,
now every tribe can rise and sing.

[FINAL HOOK]

Father of faith, walking by the Word,
stars in the sky and a promise heard.
Leave the old way, trust and obey,
God keeps covenant day after day.

Faith is not sight, faith is not fame,
faith is believing the Lord by Name.
Blessed to be blessing, called from the start,
God writes promise on a waiting heart.

[OUTRO]

Abram left Ur.
Abraham trusted God.
The stars preached promise.
The mountain preached provision.

He was not perfect.
But God was faithful.

And through his seed,
Jesus Christ came.

Blessed to be blessing.
Called to walk by faith.
The Father of Faith
points to the Son of Promise.
