TITLE: FULL OF POWER
ARTIST: THE NAZARENE
STYLE: Kids wisdom Gospel rap, prophet origin story, superhero comparison, bright heroic drums, choir counters, justice and humility

[INTRO]

Before capes, masks, and comic-book skies,
there were prophets.

Not superheroes with secret gadgets,
but servants of the living God.

Micah came from a small place,
but the Word in him was not small.

He said:

“I am full of power,
by the Spirit of the Lord,
and of justice and might.”

[VERSE 1]

Micah came from Moresheth town,
not the palace, not the crown,
not the temple’s famous seat,
but the dusty village street.

No metal suit, no glowing hand,
no flying cape across the land,
but when God’s Spirit filled his frame,
truth came burning in God’s Name.

He saw the rich take fields by force,
saw the poor pushed off their course,
saw leaders smile while justice bled,
saw prophets speak for wine and bread.

He saw religion dressed in gold,
while mercy shivered in the cold.
He saw the judges twist what’s right,
and priests sell peace for appetite.

So Micah stood with holy nerve,
not to be famous, but to serve.
A small-town prophet, fierce and true,
saying, “God sees what people do.”

[HOOK]

Full of power, Spirit of the Lord,
justice and might like a flaming sword.
Not for pride, not for fame,
Micah spoke in the holy Name.

Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with God,
feet on the earth where the prophets trod.
Children, listen, brave and true,
God still cares what our hearts do.

[VERSE 2]

A superhero fights the villain outside,
Micah fought the villain of pride.
Not just monsters in the street,
but greed in respectable seats.

He challenged rulers, “Hear this now,
you hate the good and twist the vow.
You build up Zion with blood and lies,
then act like God approves your rise.”

He warned the prophets chasing pay,
“Night will fall on your empty way.”
He warned the priests with holy clothes,
when worship blooms but justice goes.

That’s why his power was not pretend,
not muscle made to win the trend.
It was courage to speak God’s heart,
where sin had torn the town apart.

Micah’s mission was sharp and clear:
warn the proud, pull truth near,
comfort the remnant, point to grace,
show God’s kingdom in a broken place.

[CHOIR COUNTER]

Justice like thunder.
Mercy like rain.
Walk with humility.
Call us back again.

[HOOK]

Full of power, Spirit of the Lord,
justice and might like a flaming sword.
Not for pride, not for fame,
Micah spoke in the holy Name.

Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with God,
feet on the earth where the prophets trod.
Children, listen, brave and true,
God still cares what our hearts do.

[VERSE 3]

Micah was not only warning smoke,
he carried hope when the city broke.
He said from Bethlehem, small and least,
would come the Shepherd, Prince of Peace.

Not from the loudest royal stage,
but from a little village page.
God loves choosing lowly things,
to humble thrones and shame proud kings.

He saw a future bright and wide,
swords beat down, no more pride.
Spears turned plowshares, war undone,
nations walking in God’s sun.

He saw justice roll through towns,
idols falling, mercy crowned.
He saw God gather what was torn,
a kingdom healed, a people reborn.

So yes, Micah was heroic,
but not like ego’s noisy comic.
His power came from God within,
to expose pride and confront sin.

[BRIDGE]

The world says, “Promote your name.”
Micah says, “Fear God’s flame.”

The world says, “Win at any cost.”
Micah says, “Care for the lost.”

The world says, “Power means control.”
Micah says, “God weighs the soul.”

The world says, “Step on the weak.”
Jesus says, “Blessed are the meek.”

[VERSE 4]

Today the gates are digital too,
newsfeeds, markets, schools we move through.
People still bend truth for gain,
poor still carry hidden pain.

Leaders still need prophets’ words,
churches still need hearts stirred.
Families need the courage clear,
to love the ones pushed to the rear.

So children, don’t just chase the cape,
ask what kind of heart you shape.
Power without mercy turns to stone,
strength without God builds a lonely throne.

Be brave like Micah, but gentle too,
tell the truth and let God search you.
If you see wrong, don’t laugh or hide,
stand with the hurting, walk by their side.

And when pride rises in your chest,
remember what the Lord loves best:
not boasting, not a golden show,
but humble feet where mercy flows.

[CALL AND RESPONSE]

Leader: Who filled Micah with power?
Children: The Spirit of the Lord!

Leader: What did Micah speak for?
Children: Justice and truth!

Leader: What does the Lord require?
Children: Do justice!

Leader: What else?
Children: Love mercy!

Leader: How do we walk?
Children: Walk humbly with God!

Leader: Who is the final Word?
All: Jesus is the Word!

[FINAL HOOK]

Full of power, Spirit of the Lord,
justice and might like a flaming sword.
Not for pride, not for fame,
Micah spoke in the holy Name.

Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly with God,
feet on the earth where the prophets trod.
Children, listen, brave and true,
God still cares what our hearts do.

Full of power, but humble in heart,
light in the dark where the lies fall apart.
Micah pointed beyond what he saw,
to Jesus, the King who fulfils the Law.

[OUTRO]

Micah came from a small place.
But God’s Word made him brave.

He challenged kings.
He warned corrupt leaders.
He defended justice.
He promised hope.

He was full of power,
by the Spirit of the Lord.

Not superhero pride.
Prophet courage.

Do justice.
Love mercy.
Walk humbly with your God.
