HABAKKUK
THE WHOLE WORLD TURNED CATACOMB

HABAKKUK
THE WHOLE WORLD TURNED CATACOMB
[Verse]
Late as Babylon rose Judah groaned under blows
Habakkuk watched the law fail while blood filled the court
how long rose from his chest why does wrong crush the just
law lay numb in the street courts made truth kiss defeat
rich men trapped poor in debt hired hands starved in sweat
priests spoke peace to the throne widows wept all alone
God said watch east for dust fierce Chaldeans will rise
they sweep lands like the wind kings make might into right
Habakkuk cried once more can dark judge darker wrong
how can wolves judge the flock why stay still as they mock
God said write down the sight wait though it seems held back
proud hearts swell without breath just ones live by their faith
woe to hands filled with spoil those in debt rise from soil
woe to homes built from gain stones cry out from the frame
woe to towns built with blood beams bear witness like mud
woe to cups filled with shame kings strip flesh for their fame
woe to carved blocks of wood breathless gods promise good
the Lord sits in His house whole earth hush at His mouth
God comes forth from Teman light splits cloud over hills
plague runs close at His feet mountains bow from the heat
sun and moon stand in awe spears flash bright through the storm
God strides forth through the earth wrath strips kings from their thrones
though fig trees bear no fruit faith still sings through the drought
past ghost rose from the stones kings built thrones out of bones
blood gems paid for old guns bright rings hid what was done
old empires carved the mines chains ran deep through the lines
each age called its rule peace graves kept proof underneath
now ghost walks through the feeds new wars bloom from old needs
Minab girls faced the blast old maps sent death to class
Gaza girl walked to tests air strike laid her to rest
Kharkiv kids wake to bombs glass falls hard through their homes
Ukraine wakes under drones kids count blasts close to home
Gaza tents choke in dust smoke turns noon into dusk
bomb maps talk like cold math girls bear heat from the blast
wars turn names into sums screens turn grief into funds
blood stones still fund the gun bright rings hide what was done
batteries drink from mines small hands bleed through the lines
kids haul rocks for the charge clean screens hide every scar
cobalt cuts young hands raw green cars mask each old scar
tools bear no guilt alone greed turns gifts into stones
oil buys bombs for the throne mines feed wars through the phone
we charge screens through their pain then call progress our gain
third ghost waits in the caves all our tribes stacked in graves
cities turn into tombs weeds write names through the rooms
servers sink into rust clouds lose names to the dust
civilisation sleeps roots split halls through the years
earth forms one catacomb each dead age fills its rooms
whole race waits for the horn graves stand ranked row by row
phones lie mute by the bones no feed calls lost souls home
kings kids rich poor lie still one vast crypt crowns the hill
future ghost shows the end dust makes kin out of men
all of man becomes past judgement wakes us at last
first seal breaks white rides out conquest wears borrowed peace
red horse strips peace from earth black scales ration the bread
pale horse walks with the grave Hades follows behind
seas give back all their dead books lie wide at the throne
past now future meet there all face Christ when He comes
bomb chiefs traders and kings each must bow to the Lamb
blood in schools mines and streets cries for truth at His feet
sky rolls back like a scroll Faithful rides through the light
false white horse meets the Word Christ strikes beasts from their thrones
names not found in the Book face the second death there
Jesus bore sin on wood blood bought rebels for God
stone sealed breath in the dark third dawn raised flesh to light
Christ now holds death and hell all graves break at His call
just ones live by their faith faith clings fast to the Christ
turn from blood greed and lies trust in Christ’s blood alone
though fig trees bear no fruit saints still sing through the drought
glory floods all the earth as seas cover the depths
no child gets sold for gold Lamb calls each one by name
no bomb falls on a school Christ makes all things now whole
Habakkuk’s watch meets Christ faith sees dawn through the mist
past and present grow dim future bows down to Him
Day of the Lord draws near Christ is refuge and Judge
ghosts fall still at His feet grave gives back all it keeps
whole world turned catacomb Christ calls each body home
