I AM SENT ME

[INTRO]Moses was not looking for a throne.
He was watching sheep in the wilderness. Then a bush burned with fire,
but it was not consumed. And God called his name.Moses.
Moses.[VERSE 1]Moses was born when the empire was cruel,
Pharaoh made fear into government rule.
Babies were threatened, mothers cried low,
but one little basket went out on the flow.Nile water carried a hidden plan,
God was preserving a deliverer man.
Raised in a palace, Hebrew by blood,
history moving like a river in flood. But Moses ran when his anger broke loose,
desert years taught him a quieter truth.
No royal stage, no public applause,
just sheep and silence under Heaven’s laws. Then Horeb glowed with a strange holy flame,
fire in a bush, and God called his name.
“Moses, Moses,” the wilderness heard,
sand became sanctuary under the Word.“Take off your sandals, this ground is holy,”
God came near to the frightened and lowly.
Not in a palace, not in a crowd,
but in the desert where the quiet gets loud.[HOOK]I AM sent me,
the God who sees.
I AM heard the children cry,
I AM came to set them free.Fire in the bush,
but the leaves stayed whole.
God called Moses
and He calls the soul.[VERSE 2]God said, “I have surely seen their pain,
heard every cry under Pharaoh’s chain.
I know their sorrow, I know their tears,
I have come down after all these years.”Moses said, “Who am I to go?
I’m slow with words and my courage is low.”
God said, “I will be with you there,”
calling is carried by presence and prayer.Gen Alpha, listen, when fear says hide,
God does not need your polished pride.
You don’t have to feel like a hero first,
God can use vessels with trembling thirst. The world says, “Brand yourself, be seen,”
God says, “Take off your shoes, stay clean.”
The world says, “Power is loud and grand,”
God says, “Go with My Name in your hand.”Moses asked, “Who shall I say sent me?”
God said, “I AM WHO I AM. Tell them plainly:
I AM has sent you, the living Lord,
not carved in stone, not empire’s sword.”[CHOIR COUNTER]I AM sees.
I AM hears.
I AM knows.
I AM draws near.[HOOK]I AM sent me,
the God who sees.
I AM heard the children cry,
I AM came to set them free.Fire in the bush,
but the leaves stayed whole.
God called Moses
and He calls the soul.[VERSE 3]This story speaks when the world feels chained,
when children are hurting and systems remain.
God is not blind to the powerful throne,
not deaf to the ones who feel alone. He hears the bullied, the poor, the afraid,
the children whose beds are in war-shadowed shade.
He hears the family under pressure at night,
He sees the tears hidden out of sight. But Moses also warns the heart:
don’t run forever from your God-given part.
Your past may be messy, your voice may shake,
but grace can still call you awake. The burning bush points beyond the sand,
to Jesus Christ, the great I AM.
Before Abraham was, He said, “I AM,”
the Shepherd, the Door, the Son of Man.Jesus came down to a world enslaved,
not just from Pharaoh, but sin and grave.
By His Cross and His empty tomb,
He leads His people out of doom.[BRIDGE]Basket on water.
Fire in a tree.
Voice in the desert.
People set free.Sandals removed.
Fear answered by Name.
Moses was trembling,
but God was the flame. Not by ego.
Not by fame.
Not by strength.
By God’s own Name.[FINAL HOOK]I AM sent me,
the God who sees.
I AM heard the children cry,
I AM came to set them free.Fire in the bush,
but the leaves stayed whole.
God called Moses
and He calls the soul.I AM sent me,
Jesus is the Name.
Light in the darkness,
holy living flame.[OUTRO]Moses thought he was not enough.God did not say,
“You are enough.”God said,
“I will be with you.”That is better. The bush burned.
The Name was spoken.
The mission began.I AM sent me.
