TITLE: SUCH A TIME AS THIS
ARTIST: THE NAZARENE
STYLE: Children’s biblical wisdom Gospel rap, Esther origin story, royal palace tension, courage anthem, genius classical rainbow soundtrack

[INTRO]

Esther did not ask for the palace.

She was an orphan.
A young Jewish girl in a foreign empire.
Raised by Mordecai.
Hidden in plain sight.

Then came a dangerous moment.

And courage had a question:

What if you were placed here
for such a time as this?

[VERSE 1]

Esther was born with another name,
Hadassah hidden in empire’s frame.
No mother’s hand, no father’s voice,
but Mordecai loved her through grief and choice.

Persia was shining with royal gold,
palace walls with stories cold.
Power smiled with a dangerous face,
beauty was measured in a courtly place.

Esther was taken where choices were thin,
new rooms, new rules, new pressure within.
She carried her people beneath her chest,
silent identity, wisdom dressed.

Gen Alpha, listen, the world still tries
to tell you your worth through other people’s eyes.
Looks, likes, status, who gets seen,
palace culture on a glowing screen.

But God sees deeper than a polished crown,
deeper than beauty that trends then drowns.
You are not a product, not a display,
God gives purpose in a hidden way.

[HOOK]

For such a time as this,
courage in the quiet.
For such a time as this,
truth when fear says hide it.

God can use the hidden place,
God can move through tears.
Esther stood with trembling grace,
faith was stronger than fear.

[VERSE 2]

Haman rose with a hungry pride,
wanted the whole world bowing at his side.
Mordecai would not bend his knee,
so hatred planned catastrophe.

A decree went out with a deadly sound,
letters riding through every town.
God’s people marked for a violent day,
empire ink tried to steal their way.

Mordecai mourned at the palace gate,
sackcloth grief under royal weight.
He sent word to Esther: “Do not think
you can stay safe while your people sink.”

“If you stay silent, help may rise,
but you and your house may not survive.
And who knows, child, if you reached this
royal place for such a time as this?”

Esther knew the law was sharp:
go uncalled, and death could start.
But she asked them, “Fast and pray;
then I will go the dangerous way.”

[CHOIR COUNTER]

Pray before courage.
Fast before speech.
God sees the moment
power cannot reach.

[HOOK]

For such a time as this,
courage in the quiet.
For such a time as this,
truth when fear says hide it.

God can use the hidden place,
God can move through tears.
Esther stood with trembling grace,
faith was stronger than fear.

[VERSE 3]

She put on robes, but not just style,
wisdom walked through the palace aisle.
The king held out the golden rod,
and Esther breathed beneath her God.

She did not rush with noisy pride,
she moved with patience, truth inside.
Banquet by banquet, the moment grew,
until the hidden thing came through.

“There is a plan against my life,
against my people, grief and knife.”
Haman’s mask began to fall,
truth walked in and shook the hall.

The gallows he built for another man
became the sign of his own proud plan.
The decree was answered, the people stood,
God turned danger toward life and good.

Purim joy from a death-day turned,
children laughed where fear had burned.
The unseen God, though not named loud,
was moving under every cloud.

[BRIDGE]

Esther was not loud for fame.
She spoke to save, not build her name.

Mordecai did not bow to pride.
He stood for God with truth inside.

Haman shows what pride can do,
when ego makes the heart untrue.

The palace shows this lesson clear:
power without God becomes fear.

[VERSE 4]

For Gen Alpha, this still speaks,
when power mocks the small and weak.
When children see injustice grow,
when people say, “Just let it go.”

Courage is not screaming online,
not every post is kingdom shine.
Courage may fast, may pray, may wait,
then speak truth at the proper gate.

Use your voice for those unheard,
but anchor every word in God’s Word.
Do not chase the palace glow,
ask what love would have you show.

And Esther points beyond her throne,
to Jesus Christ who stood alone.
He entered danger for His own,
King of mercy, flesh and bone.

Esther risked her life to plead,
Jesus gave His life indeed.
She stood before an earthly king,
Christ stands forever interceding.

[FINAL HOOK]

For such a time as this,
courage in the quiet.
For such a time as this,
truth when fear says hide it.

God can use the hidden place,
God can move through tears.
Esther stood with trembling grace,
faith was stronger than fear.

For such a time as this,
children, hear the call:
speak with love, stand with faith,
Jesus reigns over all.

[OUTRO]

Esther was hidden.
Then Esther was called.

She prayed.
She fasted.
She spoke.

God turned mourning into joy.

Not fame.
Not ego.
Not palace pride.

Courage with wisdom.
Truth with mercy.

For such a time as this.
