TITLE: THE BOOKS WERE OPENED

[INTRO]

The court was seated.

The books were opened.

Not rumours.

Not guesses.

Records.

And every soul stood still.

[VERSE 1]

Daniel saw thrones where the fire ran bright,
Ancient of Days in unborrowed light.
River of flame from the judgement seat,
beasts went silent at holy feet.

Thousands served Him, millions stood,
no crown looked royal, no mask looked good.
Books were opened, the record read,
living and hidden, buried and dead.

Revelation saw the same court blaze,
great white throne at the end of days.
Earth and sky fled the face of the One,
no place to hide from the holy Son.

Small and great stood before the throne,
king and beggar, crowd and alone.
Deeds were written, secrets known,
every heart stripped down to bone.

Now bring that court to the screen-lit age,
where the soul keeps files in a private cage.
Deleted searches, hidden tabs,
smiles in public, poison jabs.

Bank app records, late-night lust,
anger dressed up as “that was just.”
Screenshots gone, but the Judge still sees,
all locked rooms with eternal keys.

Reputation cannot cleanse the stain.
Privacy cannot erase the chain.
If the books are opened and your name is called,
what will you plead when the masks all fall?

[HOOK]

The books were opened,
the masks fell down.
No one can hide
when the Judge wears the crown.

Only Jesus saves.
Only Jesus saves.
Records cannot cleanse you,
regret cannot raise.

Run to the Lamb,
while mercy is near.
His blood speaks louder
than the record of fear.

[VERSE 2]

This is not panic, this is light,
truth entering the human night.
God is not fooled by the polished frame,
not by the brand, not by the name.

You can build a holy-looking feed,
post the verse and ignore the need.
You can talk of justice, mercy, grace,
while pride sits armed in the secret place.

You can hate the rich and envy gold,
preach compassion while the heart grows cold.
You can mock the crowd, then crave applause,
condemn the world while breaking God’s laws.

We have all transgressed the King’s command,
thought, word, eye, tongue, hand.
Loved the creature more than the Lord,
kissed the idol and ignored the Word.

Vanity Fair keeps receipts in style,
selling the sinner another file.
Fame keeps score, money keeps chains,
fear-feed news keeps numbering pains.

But Heaven’s books are not like ours,
not lost in clouds or corporate towers.
No hacked account, no server crash,
no shredding guilt into digital ash.

You need atonement, not excuse.
You need clean robes, not better news.
You need the Lamb before the throne,
or you stand with the record alone.

[HOOK]

The books were opened,
the masks fell down.
No one can hide
when the Judge wears the crown.

Only Jesus saves.
Only Jesus saves.
Morals cannot cleanse you,
tears cannot raise.

Run to the Lamb,
while mercy is near.
His blood speaks louder
than the record of fear.

[BRIDGE]

There is another book.

Not your résumé.

Not your excuses.

Not your edited story.

The Lamb’s Book of Life.

Written by mercy.

Opened by grace.

[VERSE 3]

This is the Gospel before the fire,
God’s own Son came low from higher.
The Judge stepped into time and dust,
holy in mercy, perfect in trust.

Jesus knew every hidden stain,
every proud thought, every private chain.
Still He touched the sick and called the lost,
then walked toward Calvary counting the cost.

At the Cross, the record stood,
charges answered by holy blood.
Not God pretending sin was small,
but judgement falling on Christ for all.

Nails in His hands, thorn on His head,
the living Word among the dead.
Debt met mercy, wrath met grace,
atonement shone from the Saviour’s face.

He cried, “It is finished,” the payment made,
sin’s full ledger on the Lamb was laid.
They sealed Him once in the stone-cold night,
but death lost claim when He rose in light.

Now the risen Christ still calls your name,
not to leave you buried in guilt and shame.
Confess your sin, let darkness go,
come to the blood that makes sinners snow.

Do not trust your deleted past.
Do not trust that breath will last.
Do not stand before Heaven alone.
Come now to the Lamb on the throne.

Repent and believe, let pride be broken.
The books will open, but mercy has spoken.
If Christ is yours, no fear remains:
the Lamb’s own blood has answered your name.

[FINAL HOOK]

The books were opened,
the masks fell down.
No one can hide
when the Judge wears the crown.

Only Jesus saves.
Only Jesus saves.
His blood can cleanse you,
His voice can raise.

Run to the Lamb,
while mercy is near.
The Book of Life
is open here.

[OUTRO]

Books opened.

Records read.

Masks fallen.

Christ risen.

Blood speaking.

Mercy calling.

Repent.

Believe.

Jesus is Lord.
