Track NameSEVEN CHAINS
00:00 / 04:45

TITLE: SEVEN CHAINS
THE NAZARENE

INTRO
Seven doors.
Seven chains.
Same old serpent
wearing different names.

VERSE 1
Pride walked first with a crown on his head,
Said, “I don’t need God, I can raise myself instead.”
Built his own tower, put his name in the sky,
But dust with a throne still returns when it dies.

Envy came quiet with a sideways stare,
Couldn’t bless the brother, couldn’t breathe the air.
Cain in the field with a storm in his chest,
Killed what he hated because God blessed the rest.

Wrath came burning with a sword in his hand,
Turned small wounds into war in the land.
Tongue like fire and a heart like stone,
Burned down the house just to sit there alone.

But Christ came low, though He sits most high,
Meek in His power, with the cross in His eyes.
He breaks pride’s crown, envy’s bite,
Wrath’s red fist in the mercy light.

HOOK
SEVEN CHAINS, BUT ONE CROSS BREAKS THEM,
SEVEN GRAVES, BUT ONE LORD SHAKES THEM.
SIN HAD A NAME, BUT GRACE HAD BLOOD,
JESUS CAME DOWN LIKE A MERCY FLOOD.

SEVEN CHAINS, BUT THE LAMB STILL SAVES,
CALLS DRY BONES OUT OF DARKENED GRAVES.
I TURN FROM THE DARK, I RUN TO THE SON,
SEVEN CHAINS FALL WHEN I BOW TO THE ONE.

VERSE 2
Lust came dressed like a harmless flame,
Promised sweet water, left poison and shame.
Eyes went wandering, hearts got sold,
Bodies made temples got traded for gold.

Gluttony laughed with a mouth full of more,
Fed every craving, still empty at the core.
Not just food, but the hunger for numb,
Screens, noise, pleasure till the soul goes dumb.

Greed built barns while the poor man cried,
Counted his coins while his spirit dried.
“Relax, my soul, you have years in store,”
But God said, “Tonight they ask for yours.”

But Christ is bread that the world can’t bake,
Living water no drought can take.
He fills the hunger, cleans the eyes,
Turns dead desire toward paradise.

VERSE 3
Sloth came soft with a spiritual sleep,
“Tomorrow, tomorrow,” while the roots grew deep.
Prayer went cold and the lamp burned low,
The harvest was white, but the feet moved slow.

Not just rest, but refusal to rise,
A buried gift under comfortable lies.
Faith without fire, hands folded tight,
Sleeping in daylight, calling it night.

Seven sins, seven hooks in the flesh,
Old Adam breathing through the digital mesh.
Babylon scrolls with a velvet thumb,
“Feed every hunger, let kingdom come.”

But the Spirit says, “Wake, child, walk in light,
Put on Christ, leave the deeds of night.
You are not a slave to the grave within,
Grace trains the heart to say no to sin.”

BRIDGE
Pride falls to worship.
Envy falls to love.
Wrath falls to mercy
from the throne above.

Lust falls to holiness.
Gluttony falls to peace.
Greed falls to giving.
Sloth wakes up free.

CHOIR
Break every chain.
Wash every stain.
Call me by grace,
Not by my shame.

Break every chain.
Raise me again.
Jesus is Lord,
Sin shall not reign.

VERSE 4
The seven are deadly because they don’t stay small,
They build little thrones and demand your all.
They make you a prisoner with a painted key,
Then charge you rent for captivity.

But the Gospel is stronger than appetite’s throne,
Stronger than secrets you carry alone.
Christ was tempted, yet without stain,
Then took our guilt and carried our pain.

At Calvary pride saw the humble King,
Envy saw love give everything.
Wrath met justice and mercy’s kiss,
Lust met purity deeper than bliss.

Gluttony met the Bread of Life,
Greed met hands pierced open wide.
Sloth met the risen Lord awake,
Death lost the world it tried to take.

FINAL HOOK

OUTRO
I am not my pride.
I am not my hunger.
I am not my wrath.
I am not my shame.

I am crucified with Christ.
I am raised in His name.
Seven chains fall.
One King reigns.
