TITLE: THE PROMISED ONE
THE NAZARENE

INTRO
Before Bethlehem had a manger,
Before Rome had an empire,
Before nails touched the timber,
God had spoken fire.

VERSE 1
Genesis whispered in the garden shade,
A serpent would fall by the Seed one day.
Heel bruised deep, but the head gets crushed,
Mercy moved first when the dust lost trust.

Abraham looked up where the stars burned bright,
One family blessed, then the nations in light.
Moriah trembled with a son and a knife,
But God gave a ram in the place of life.

Jacob saw Judah with a lion’s roar,
Sceptre in hand till Shiloh walks through the door.
Balaam saw a Star from Jacob rise,
A King with thunder in His holy eyes.

Moses said, “A Prophet will come like me,”
Greater than Exodus, greater than sea.
Not just Pharaoh, not just chains,
He would break sin and death and shame.

HOOK
HE WAS PROMISED IN THE SCROLL,
BURNING THROUGH THE PROPHETS’ SOUL.
BETHLEHEM LIGHT, DAVID’S SON,
ALL THE SIGNS POINT TO THE ONE.

THE LAMB, THE KING, THE BRANCH, THE STONE,
BORN FOR THE CROSS, THEN THE EMPTY THRONE.
FROM ANCIENT DAYS TO THE RISING SUN,
JESUS CHRIST, THE PROMISED ONE.

VERSE 2
David heard covenant thunder sing,
“Your house will carry an endless King.”
Psalm two spoke of the Son enthroned,
Nations raging, but the Lord still owns.

Psalm twenty-two saw the hands and feet,
Mockers circling in the killing heat.
“They cast lots,” and the garments fell,
Love walked willingly into hell’s smell.

Psalm sixteen would not let Him decay,
Holy One rising on the third bright day.
Psalm one-ten, Priest and King,
Melchizedek fire with eternal spring.

Isaiah saw Him, child of wonder,
Government resting on His shoulder.
Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God named,
Prince of Peace with everlasting flame.

Virgin shall bear Immanuel near,
God with us in the human tear.
Galilee saw the great Light bloom,
Morning breaking through exile’s room.

HOOK
HE WAS PROMISED IN THE SCROLL,
BURNING THROUGH THE PROPHETS’ SOUL.
BETHLEHEM LIGHT, DAVID’S SON,
ALL THE SIGNS POINT TO THE ONE.

THE LAMB, THE KING, THE BRANCH, THE STONE,
BORN FOR THE CROSS, THEN THE EMPTY THRONE.
FROM ANCIENT DAYS TO THE RISING SUN,
JESUS CHRIST, THE PROMISED ONE.

VERSE 3
Isaiah fifty-three, silence before the blade,
Servant wounded for the debts we made.
Pierced for transgression, crushed for our peace,
By His stripes the captives release.

Like sheep we scattered into our own road,
He carried the judgement, He shouldered the load.
Cut off living, buried with the rich,
Yet He sees His offspring when the grave doors switch.

Jeremiah saw a righteous Branch,
New covenant written where the hearts advance.
No stone-only law on the outside skin,
But Spirit-fire washing deep within.

Ezekiel saw dry bones arise,
Breath in the valley, hope in the skies.
Daniel saw the Son of Man ride,
Clouds of heaven at the Ancient One’s side.

Micah marked Bethlehem small on the map,
But eternity stepped through that village gap.
Ruler from old, from ancient days,
Cradle of glory in hidden ways.

BRIDGE
Zechariah saw the humble King,
Riding on a donkey while the children sing.
Thirty coins in the traitor’s hand,
A pierced One mourned across the land.

Malachi cried, “Prepare the way,”
Messenger first, then the Lord’s own day.
Refiner’s fire, healing wings,
Sun of righteousness over everything.

CHOIR
Written before, fulfilled in flesh,
Promise older than our breath.
Scrolls were singing, shadows ran,
Till God stepped down as Son of Man.

VERSE 4
Then came Jesus with Scripture alive,
Water to wine and the blind received sight.
Good news preached to the poor in chains,
Leprosy fled when He spoke their names.

He opened Isaiah in Nazareth town,
“The Spirit is on Me,” heaven came down.
Freedom for captives, sight for the blind,
Jubilee walking in sandals through time.

Lamb of God by the Jordan’s wave,
John pointed out who came to save.
Not a symbol, not a vague bright thought,
The promised Messiah the prophets sought.

Rejected stone became cornerstone,
Cross lifted high where the curse was known.
Buried deep in borrowed gloom,
Then sunrise thundered through the tomb.

OUTRO
So read the scrolls and see Him shine,
Every promise with a crimson line.
Seed, Star, Branch, King, Lamb, Son,
Every prophecy finds the One.

FINAL HOOK
HE WAS PROMISED IN THE SCROLL,
BURNING THROUGH THE PROPHETS’ SOUL.
BETHLEHEM LIGHT, DAVID’S SON,
ALL THE SIGNS POINT TO THE ONE.

THE LAMB, THE KING, THE BRANCH, THE STONE,
BORN FOR THE CROSS, THEN THE EMPTY THRONE.
FROM ANCIENT DAYS TO THE RISING SUN,
JESUS CHRIST, THE PROMISED ONE.
